Lafayette Education Foundation promotes and supports excellence in education by:
- Developing supportive relationships between the private sector and the Lafayette Parish public school system.
- Providing private sector support through grant funding to launch creative education initiatives.
- Implementing strategies to stimulate optimism and inspiration among educators, parents and students.
- Encouraging and facilitating lifelong learning initiatives.

LEF Programs:
Teacher Awards - Celebrating its 21st anniversary in 2019, the goal of the LEF Teacher Awards is to honor outstanding educators who have made a difference in the life of a child, while bolstering teachers' love for their profession.
Classroom and School Impact Grants - Since 1989, LEF has provided Classroom and School Impact Grants to LPSS teaches for innovative and creative approaches to learning. LEF awards $50,000-$70,000 annually in grant awards through this program.

You Got Schooled - You Got Schooled! pits "Lafayette Famous" adult contestants against one another in three rounds of first through fifth grade trivia questions. The contestants have the option to call on pre-selected fifth grade students from across Lafayette Parish public, private, parochial and charter schools to assist them in answering correctly. Guests are invited to join in on the fun by attending and cheering on their favorites!
