St. Pius Elementary School - Monsignor Mouton Scholarship
The St. Pius Monsignor Richard von Phul Mouton Scholarship Fund has been established by Elaine and Richard Zuschlag as a lasting tribute to Monsignor Mouton to encourage families of St. Pius X Church Parish to give their children the gift of Catholic education. The scholarship will be awarded annually to parishioners of St. Pius X Church Parish who are actively involved in ministries of the church, dedicated to family faith formation and are leaders in ministry and service.
"Monsignor Mouton was a great friend and mentor to the Zuschlag Family," said Richard Zuschlag, chief executive officer of Acadian Ambulance Service. "He was a strong advocate for the improvement and expansion of catholic education in our diocese. My family is honored to build upon his legacy by partnering with St. Pius Elementary School to establish the Monsignor Richard von Phul Mouton Scholarship Fund," he said.
The St. Pius Monsignor Richard von Phul Mouton Scholarship Fund for St. Pius Elementary was established in memory of Monsignor Richard von Phul Mouton, a great visionary who led St. Pius X Catholic Church in giving "a gift of the new millennium". Monsignor Mouton worked tirelessly to see that vision become reality and St. Pius Elementary School. The school is now a thriving school offering a 21st century education based in the mission of "bringing the presence of Christ to others."
